BEEKEEPING COURSES

The beginners course includes both theory as well as a practical session opening and inspecting a beehive. They run during spring and summer (September to February). 

Courses are held at Edendale Community Farm, Eltham (NE Melbourne). Courses run from 10am-4.30pm and includes drinks, morning tea and lunch.

Discounts are available for group bookings. 5% off for groups of 2 or 3 ($285 each), and 10% off for groups of 4+ ($270 each). Please call or email to book at the reduced rate.

Please select your approximate suit size to help us organise the right protective gear for you to wear during the inspection. You can find the suit measurements on the "overall sizing" tab above. Please find your shoulder to crotch measurements and add 10cm to find your suit size. We will have extra smaller and larger sizes available. If you are booking for someone else an estimate is fine!

The course includes a group hive inspection but if you would also like 1 on 1 instruction we can offer one of our hive help services at a reduced rate for course participants (within the following 12 months). For details of hive help CLICK HERE. Normally $120, course participants can book a session for $90 (plus travel). Please call or email to book.

Booking Conditions;

The course is held with a minimum number of participants. If this number is not reached within one week of the start of the course you will be invited to attend the next course.

In poor weather we may not be able to open and inspect a hive. If this occurs you will be given the oppertunity to postpone this activity to the back-up inspection date (given in brackets on the course calender). 

If you are unable to attend the course date you have booked for courses can be rescheduled for a $20 re-booking fee, if we are informed more than 14 days before the booked course date. If rescheduling between 14 days and 1 day before a course a $100 re-booking fee applies. If you need to cancel your booking 90% of the course fee can be refunded if we are informed of cancellation more than 15 days before the course date. Refunds are not available on courses cancelled within 14 days of the course date.
